Alif Academy provides young Muslims with their first grasp of Islamic knowledge. Our students are able to gain a good understanding of their religion that will serve as their foundation in Islam.
Mandatory Pre-requisites:
Applicants must be aged 5 and over.
Optional Requirements:
Students should have read the Quran or are able to recite the Quran correctly and confidently. They should have also studied a simple fiqh book such as Taleem al-Haq or Taleem al-Islam.
Course Description:
Alif Academy employs a classroom environment similar to modern primary and secondary schools in order to provide a familiar and friendly learning experience. Students will learn and develop a highly competent and confident ability to recite the Quran. They will aslo learn essential fiqh including cleanliness, prayers and religious rites and rituals. There is a strong focus on developing good moral character and morals and students are taught the importance of respecting parents, helping the needy and other meritous acts. Students will also learn basic Islamic history
Assessments and Examinations:
At the end of each semester the students will have to sit for examination. In addition to written examination students will be orally tested. The oral test is designed to test their reading ability as well as memory retention.
